Buckwild Fight, Faked?

Those who tuned into the season premier of MTV's Buckwild witnessed an epic fight between Anna and her crazy neighbor, portions of which had been shown in previews over the past several months. As mentioned in our previous blog post, we have some pretty solid proof that most of the show is scripted, but after watching the fight in all it's fist pounding, name calling, finger-in-the-face glory, it *almost* had us convinced it legitimately happened. For those who missed it, here's a recap: Anna and friends rent a home in a residential neighborhood. Less than pleased with the noise and parties, neighbors continuously call the police and complain about the disturbance. Young and dumb, the girls ignore the complaints and throw an alcohol fueled party. Soon there was a knock on the door and a ghetto-fabulous, fire-truck-red haired woman appeared, telling Anna the party needed to stop because her children were sleeping. Her tone of voice didn't sit too well with less than sober Anna, and within seconds she and the lady (dubbed "Willy Wonka") were on the ground straight up brawling. Friends stepped in to separate the women, though Anna, completely red faced and heated, didn't take it to well that the fight was being extinguished without getting to "whoop her ass".  The confrontation eventually leads to the girls getting an eviction notice the next day (more on THAT in the next post).

But was the fight real? For a hot minute, I was convinced I was. It's hard to fake that type of anger, and Anna looked like a bull out of hell thrashing and charging at the woman. However, according to neighbors residing on the street, like the rest of the show, the fight was totally scripted. In fact, the fiery neighbor doesn't even live there!

Recently The Charlestown Gazette interviewed Melissa Whitman, owner of the home across the street from the girl's rental on Beachwood Ave. An excerpt states:

In the show's promotional trailer, a black woman with dark red hair is seen confronting the cast. Whitman said it was completely manufactured. "She doesn't live here," Whitman said. "She was visiting some people next door. The director got her to come over. He told her what to say. They must have shot that scene six times."

Ahhh, once again, the not-so-real side of reality television.
