Is Shain Gandee Dead? "Buckwild" star dies in off-roading accident *PHOTOS*

Friends and family gather to morn at Shain Gandee's family home in West Virginia

Over the past 24 hours we have been updating our Buckwild blog, piecing together what little information was given to us by the authorities as well as sources close to to Shain Gandee. We have received many emails asking "Is Shain Gandee dead?" "Is this a hoax?" Unfortunately, Shane Gandee, his Uncle David Gandee, 48,and a 27 year old friend Donald "Robert" Myers sadly passed away early Sunday morning hours after they were reported missing. They were found in Shain's 1984 Ford Bronco which was stuck in the mud off of Wolf Pen Drive, close to Shain's family home which was prominently featured on the MTV show 'Buckwild'.

While information surrounding the circumstances is still unclear (at best) this is the updated info we have received as of 04/02/13. Below is a timeline of what supposedly happened the night of Shane's death

Saturday evening:  Shain Gandee tweets about getting drunk. Though unsure of the exact time, he heads to "Big Larry's" a bar in Sissonville West Virginia. Talking with locals to the area, it is described as a dive bar, and one customer mentioned that MTV has been filming at the bar lately for Buckwild, as it's a popular hangout of Shain and crew.

Early Sunday Morning: Shane Gandee, his uncle, and friend leave the bar around 3:00 am telling friends they planned to go "muddin'", a local term used to describe off-roading. This is the last known point-of-contact.

Sunday: When family and friends did not hear from the group they became concerned and spent most of Easter Sunday searching for them before notifying police. A friend of Gandee's found the truck and bodies Sunday afternoon.

Monday: Police release statement confirming the bodies of Shain Gandee, his uncle, and friend were found. Shain was in the driver's seat of the vehicle, which was partially submerged in mud, with the muffler fully submerged. This could signify the men did die of carbon monoxide poisoning (either from revving the engine repeatedly, or even turning on the heat to stay warm). Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless gas. The only positive thing we can say about this is it is generally a relatively painless death, as most victims do not even realize they are inhaling the toxic fumes before passing out.

Tuesday: Shain's cousin Ashley Gandee took to Facebook to say: The family feels that Shain died

peacefully in his sleep without pain or suffering. That it was probably carbon monoxide poisoning,"
and noted that donations for funeral expenses can be made to Gandee General Store in Crown City, Ohio. While Shain may have found fame on MTV, he was paid very little and the family is struggling to pay for his funeral. Ashley is organizing a "MudRun" in Shain's memory to help off-set the costs.

Police are awaiting toxicology tests and a report from the medical examiner to rule the exact cause of

death.

Shain Gandee's funeral will be held this upcoming Saturday.

MTV has released a statement that future episodes of "Buckwild" will be put on hold "indefinitely".
